A highlight of June, Father's Day, and Mother's Day provide the perfect opportunity to celebrate with some pretty special bottles. And we've got you covered: we've reserved three excellent wines for you to enjoy: a Côtes-du-Rhône, a Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, and a Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Bolstered by old Grenache grapes complemented by 80-year-old Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2015 Red Côtes du Rhône Villages Arcane Le Soleil benefits from cool, east-facing terroirs. It's a dense wine that outshines its appellation, revealing a powerful, athletic, amply fruit-driven nose with notes of dark berries, ripe cherry, chocolate, and scrubland framing a rich, voluptuous palate. Certainly one of the best Côtes du Rhône Villages, according to Parker! A perfect match for this fine vintage, it would be an ideal accompaniment to grilled or stewed meats, family-style dishes such as bourguignon, daube, or pork chops with thyme. You can also try it with desserts like cherry or strawberry soup.
The 2019 Cuvée 100% is an extraordinary red Côtes du Rhône wine. The year's blend has been supplemented with some reserve wines - like the winemaking practice in Champagne - to give the wine suppleness and freshness. The result is a wine of great finesse, lively and full of fruity flavors, ideal with herb sausage, pissaladière, eggplant, oregano pasta salad, or ratatouille.
