A desire to join forces has resulted in the creation of a very special cuvée!

Born in 2000, Barbare is the result of an encounter between Can Topsakal, a Turkish entrepreneur, and Xavier Vignon. The name Barbare pays homage to the neighbouring village of Barbaros.

This wine region is composed of blue clay marl soils with a sandstone subsoil. The vines cover 23 hectares of high altitude parcels which are cultivated using biodynamic practices.

As consultant oenologist for many years, Xavier Vignon travels to Turkey several times a year in order to guide the teams throughout all stages of the wine’s creation, from the vineyards right through to the cellars. He brings with him his savoir-faire in vinifying and ageing the 3 iconic Rhône Valley varietals grown in Turkey: Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

These many years of collaboration have given us the Cuvée XL Premier 2012, made from the domaine's finest parcels.
