Covered with a sea of large yellowish rolled pebbles, the vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape offers a unique and timeless view. Tradition dictates that wine are made from thirteen grape varieties, each contributing its own distinctive character.

Sight
Pale red with copper highlights.

Smell
Aromas of dark cherry, hints of bay leaf and mint.

Taste
Full-bodied, rich and silky. Fine tannins, good acidity and lively finish.


 

Terroir

Selection of 40 plots located mainly on the northern terroirs: 40% of limestone, 30% of red sandstone, 20% of rolled pebbles, 10% of brown soils.

Vinification and aging

Vinification

Each grape variety is vinified separately. 50% of the blend is vinified in stainless steel tanks, 25% in concrete tanks and 25% in truncated wooden tank.

Aging

Aged for 16 months in a mix of containers: 20% in foudres, 50% in stainless steel vats, 5% in truncated wooden tank and 5% in demi-muids. The remaining 20% were aged in amphoras for 12 months.
